MS SAVIN Amite Release Coverage
Mississippi calls its statewide service MS SAVIN, short for Statewide Automated Victim Information and Notification. It is delivered through VINELink. The official MS SAVIN overview says the system covers Mississippi Department of Corrections offenders and participating county jail facilities. That wording matters. It does not prove that the Amite County Jail / Amite County Law Enforcement Complex is sending live data on the day of a search.
Use the live state selection to check whether Amite County or its reporting agency is present. If it is not clear, call the MS SAVIN office or the Amite County Sheriff's Department. A VINELink release check is a current status and notice tool, not a lasting archive. The sheriff maintains the local booking information, while MDOC supplies state offender events. Federal custody is outside this service.
Check Amite VINELink Release Status
Begin with the last known custodian. A local arrest points first to the Amite sheriff. A state sentence points to MDOC. Then use the VINELink record as a second view of the same person. Exact identifiers are best. Names can be misspelled, shared, or entered under an alias, so compare every available detail and the reporting agency before accepting a match.
- Open VINELink and choose Mississippi from the state selection.
- Enter the person's current name or the identifier offered by the live form.
- Review possible matches. Compare the reporting agency and official identifiers rather than relying on a photo or name alone.
- Open the matching record and read its custody status and event information in context.
- If the record is missing or unclear, contact the contributing agency instead of treating no result as proof of release.
The successful manifest capture shows the VINELink Mississippi state selection and live search entry.
The screen is the correct entry point, but it is not evidence that a named person was released or that Amite County was contributing data at that moment.
The broader Amite County released inmate search explains how to pair a live result with the sheriff record, court order, and receiving agency. Those records solve a different question: what actually happened after the custody event.
Note: A person who disappears from a live search may have transferred, changed systems, or aged out of the display rather than entered the community.
Read Amite VINELink Release Results
A live VINELink record may present the person's identifying data, the reporting agency, custody status, location information, and event data supplied by that agency. Mississippi's official material confirms that release from custody and movement events can trigger notices. Research did not capture a stable Mississippi released-person result, so no exact release label, displayed date, or retention period can be promised for Amite County.
| Live item | What it can establish | What still needs confirmation |
|---|---|---|
| Person or identifier | Supports a match to the submitted record | Identity against an official booking or offender number |
| Reporting agency | Shows which jail or corrections body supplied the data | Whether another agency assumed custody |
| Custody status | States the contributing agency's current entry | Community release versus transfer or another hold |
| Event information | Reports a release, transfer, or other covered change when shown | The durable event record and actual destination |
| Notification action | Offers alert registration when available | Which channels and prompts appear in the current Mississippi interface |
Read each item as an agency report, not a universal custody ruling. One movement can create more than one notice. A county release event can close an Amite booking while MDOC or another authority opens a new custody record.
Register for Amite Release Alerts
The MS SAVIN notification page says anonymous registration is available and lists release, transfer, rehousing, escape, abscond supervision, and return to custody among covered events. Registration begins from the particular live record. Available channels must be read from that screen because the state page does not document each current choice.
- Open the correct person record and select the live notification action, often labeled “Get Notified.”
- Choose only a delivery route actually offered, which may include telephone, email, text, in-app notice, or TTY.
- Enter the requested contact information and follow the on-screen confirmation prompts.
- If a voice PIN appears, create and retain it as directed. A four-digit PIN is common in VINE systems, but the Mississippi PIN screen was not verified.
- Save the registration details, then verify any release or movement alert with the reporting agency.
The manifest also includes the official MS SAVIN event and registration information.
This official page supports the event list and registration route. It does not substitute for a live Amite record or prove which PIN and channel controls appear for one registration.
Amite Release Transfers Through SAVIN
Mississippi's Registration Link is the distinctive part of the local workflow. MDOC says a county SAVIN registration can follow an offender into MDOC custody after a felony conviction. The registrant may then receive notice of movement to MDOC or other custody. This can stop a common mistake: reading the end of Amite County custody as proof that the person went home.
For example, the sheriff's booking record may show a transfer. The linked SAVIN event may then point toward state intake. MDOC's offender search can confirm the state location, unit, and tentative release field. These connected entries describe movement between custodians, not two separate community releases.
The feature is useful only if the county record is in the participating network and the link operates on that live registration. Verify both points. If no link follows the case, ask the sheriff for the destination or receiving agency and search that agency directly.
Note: Registration Link continuity is a transfer clue, while the sheriff record and receiving agency provide the stronger release or intake evidence.
Amite Release Notice Channels
General SAVIN registration and direct MDOC victim services are separate channels. The public may register anonymously for general SAVIN notices. Direct victims of MDOC offenders can also use the MDOC Division of Victim Services and its official notification form for advance notices and services required by law. One registration should not be assumed to replace the other.
- MS SAVIN office
- Helps with general event registration and confirmation at 601-359-5759 during business hours.
- Automated assistance
- The round-the-clock MS SAVIN line is 1-888-967-7284; TTY is 866-847-1298.
- MDOC Victim Services
- Provides the direct-victim route at 601-359-5628 or 866-522-4087.
- Amite sheriff
- Confirms the county booking event, release entry, and receiving agency at 601-657-8057, subject to disclosure limits.
Choose the route that fits the case. A general notice tells the registrant about a submitted event. The direct-victim program handles a different legal notice relationship. Neither creates the sheriff's release record.
Confirm Amite Releases Beyond VINELink
VINELink does not replace agency records. County event data can lag after staff enter a change, and a single movement can produce several notices. A release alert may mean community release, transfer to MDOC, movement to another jail, delivery to federal custody, or another legal hold. Ask the contributor what the event means and whether a destination appears in the booking record.
For a state offender, use the MDOC Inmate Search and read location, unit, location-change date, and Tentative Release Date together. The public forecast is not actual release. MDOC Records and the discharge certificate are stronger final sources. The MDOC Parolee Search can show current parole supervision, but it does not supply a county gate-out time.
Federal and immigration cases need separate systems. The BOP Inmate Locator covers sentenced federal custody, and the ICE detainee locator covers current or recent immigration custody within its limits. Neither is part of VINELink. A missing result in any one system is not a universal release finding.
Preserve Amite Release Event Records
A live alert can answer an urgent question, but the source record is better for a later one. For an Amite jail event, ask the Sheriff's Department for the full booked name, booking number, actual release date and time, release type, releasing authority, and destination or receiving agency. The county confirms that jailers maintain booking information, though it does not publish the exact local field list. Request the fields needed for the event instead of assuming they all appear in one standard report.
Follow the legal authority through the correct court. Amite Justice Court handles initial appearances and bond-related activity, while Circuit Court keeps later felony filings, judgments, and dispositions. A bond order, dismissal, sentence, or probation order can explain why release became possible. It does not establish when staff finished processing or whether another hold was honored. The sheriff record supplies the county release timestamp.
If an alert and agency record conflict, assign each fact to its creator. The jail controls its gate-out entry. The court controls its order. MDOC Records controls state time and discharge documentation. The receiving agency controls the next custody episode. Keep the access date with any live result because VINELink and corrections data can change after movement.
