Charges at booking can later be amended, dismissed, or resolved differently. A bond marked “posted” may precede release. A photograph does not prove present identity, guilt, custody, or release. Which source wins when records conflict? Use the jail for its gate-out, the court for its order, MDOC Records for state computation or discharge, the supervision office for current reporting, and the receiving agency for a transfer. Record the access date because live fields change.
